Oh, so LJ wants us to ask people to "come back" to Livejournal. The promotion to get people back is kind of sad and weak, but I'm sending out the requests anyways just because I'd like to see people posting their life statuses again. Where is everyone working? Any love in the air? Things worked out with the parental units? So many questions left unanswered.

As you probably know since I've been relentlessly collaring every hapless ljfriend, friend of a friend, tweep and relative, I will donate $2 (up to $100) for everyone of you who shows me that you are helping Japan's entertainment industry by buying fan goods. If you aren't sure what to buy, I suggest Runway Beat goods or D*DATE's upcoming single CHANGE My LIFE. Oh, and I highly recommend the Seto Koji fashion calendar. Wow! Talk about a good investment for your hard earned recreational spending! It's not so much calendar as it is 24 high quality posters with a convenient hole to hang it.

Oh, um, sorry. Sort of losing track of my mission here....

OK, just click on that great big link there, and post me a screen shot of your proof of purchase. No identifying info is necessary.

But am I actually going to do this? I just did. 10 of you have met my challenge, and since people freezing their assets off in Tohoku need help now, I donated the $20 that these first 10 have earned with their rabid fannishness and love for Japan. Here's my own proof of purchase:

3/19 Mercy Corps donation

I hope next week to be able to donate the rest, but that's up to you. If you can't buy anything, though, could I please trouble you to click that button on the left there and make your own donation? Even just $10 would help. Or maybe you might want to buy a lovely bracelet to show your support of Japan and help out the Red Cross?

I'm at work so I can't change my icons to include the cake one that I had saved for just such events, but since even in the US, it won't be October 20 all that much longer, I don't want to let any more time pass without wishing Yuka and Jeni a happy birthday. The icon about cookies will have to do.

I know what you are thinking. Yuka and Jeni are both having a birthday on the same day? Why, yes! Also, they are both in Japan, they cosplay,  they share living quarters, and they are from Germany. I suspect a connection. O__o
