Runway Beat is the first major Japanese film since the earthquake devastated northeastern Japan.  Because of damage to theaters, as well as the lack of transportation and the ongoing survivor/evacuee crisis, the scale and tempo of the opening was toned down, with patrons to the sold-out show coming by foot. The actors donned somber clothing, in contrast to the brightness of the film's story and advertising, out of respect to those suffering in the current situation. While many events have been canceled altogether, the decision was made, as Seto explained, to open the movie with the hope of bringing encouragement to movie goers. Extra gifts such as tote bags and T-shirts that had been planned to be given out to attendees in the various theaters on opening day have instead been donated to the Red Cross to use in the northeast. Additionally, the actors collected contributions of over 170,000 yen from the 230 people in attendance.

Seto Interview for Runway Beat

As long as I'm in link-posting mode, I may as well send you over to Setoland, where the blog owner kindly posts up her transcriptions of Seto-related interviews. In Japanese, of course, but if that is going to put you off, you have definitely picked the wrong fandom! ^__^

Wow, what a big premiere Runway Beat had! So many great pictures of Seto (and Kaji!) all over the place!  And it turns out that the last part of the film will be in 3-D!  This seems like an appropriate way to use 3-D, so I hope I will someday be able to see the movie in 3-D.

Links? Why, yes! yes, look here! )

If you're like me, and you must be to bother with reading this journal, you are very excited for this! I wonder how long after it hits theaters until it is on DVD? And then, how long until there is an official English sub? Want, want, want!

This is mostly so I can find it again, a post about dressing a building for Runway Beat. It also mentions the crowds eager to catch a glimpse of Koji.
