Please, please, please, let this be released with subtitles in the US! I would be so happy if I could see it at the Alamo Drafthouse!

JUNON 07/2010 Yamamoto, Seto, Miura & Daito

It's very cute. The boys talk about their characters, and about the cast members.

The layout of the web page doesn't make sense to me, but there is a show on Mainichi Broadcasting System (MBS) that apparently had an installment a month or so ago called Part Beauty Contest. I think the celebrity female contestants were given make-overs as men? Oh, someone fluent or at least fluent-ish read the article and tell me!

And if no one responds, well, I guess I'll find out on May 27 at 9 (am? pm ? probably am) Tokyo time. That's when Seto Koji and Yamamoto Yusuke are scheduled to be participants in the male version of whatever they did back in April.  Oh, please, let it be them getting dressed in drag! I'm always particularly amused by Seto wearing girl's clothes. For someone with such a delicate face, he looks so awkward in women's clothes. His posture and mannerisms are very masculine, which is something that his pretty face obscures until he is plunked into a skirt.

edit: Definitely TBS, definitely 9 pm (21:00) Tokyo time.

First, I found this online retailer with a "D-Boys Store" selling Setout. They have a somewhat extended trailer I hadn't seen before. From what I gather from Seto's added preamble, he produced Setout himself. Cool. Makes me even more eager for my copy.

Second! Seto will be on Brunch of King (王様のブランチ) with Yamamoto Yusuke Saturday morning. Well, Saturday morning in Japan. Friday evening in the western hemisphere. I have no idea when during that long, long program he will appear.

I said I'd try to do picspam, and I am doing it! But I didn't even get past the first scene.  One, there's just too many good shots. Two, I get so emotional going through this. Seto's scared little face! Noooooooooooooooooooo! Yamamoto's Eyes of Concern!

If you don't want to be spoiled, don't look past the cut.

They really do look like brothers )

Who could scarcely sleep for the excitement of watching 輪廻の雨 (Rinne no Ame)? Me! And probably you, too, if you are a Seto or Yamamoto fan.  And Keyhole even mostly cooperated! What a relief that was. I would have been beside myself fretting whether someone was going to be kind enough to upload it. (Thank you, mystery uploaders of all nations.)

I loved every moment of Rinne no Ame. Seto's body language was perfect throughout. He and Yamamoto were great at conveying internal conflict on their faces. And the story! I really didn't expect that ending, but it makes sense given Shuhei's confusion and complete belief in anything Kohei says. The flashbacks made it obvious that the crime was a complete tragedy, that Shuhei's innocent playing with the safe had doomed them no matter what. And the somewhat open ending leads to further tragedy no matter what might happen.

And, damn, but I love these two working together! It's as if they were born to play off each other. They catch and reflect each other's expressions in a way that makes it seem like they have known each other for ages. I suppose it is unlikely they will end up in the same production again, but I can still wish.

I'll try to picspam later.

If you here, and click on the camera in the right hand corner of the first big box, you can see a 15 second teaser. Be sure to open the pop-up box if your browser is set to not let through!

Fuji has posted interviews with Seto Koji and Yamamoto Yusuki. The pictures of each of the actors are lovely, and even Google Translate doesn't mangle the text too badly (I spot checked).  I'm really anticipating this drama special. Good actors, a good script, and an intense theme. Please, someone, be subbing this! Fuji, oh, Fuji, why won't you sub your DVDs? I would pre-pre-order this if I knew you would, I want it so badly.
